COVID-19 - SAFETY MEASURE FOR VISITORS

Welcome to Optometry North Bay

Due to COVID-19 our office was closed to non-essential care in Spring 2020 under the direction of Public Health Authorities. We are now permitted to open under strict guidelines. First, please refer to the following questions:

  • Have you been in contact with any person who has tested positive for COVID-19?
  • Are you or a member of your household unwell, fevered, coughing, or showing other signs of COVID-19?
  • Have you or a member of your household travelled outside the Nipissing district in the past 14 days?

Out of an abundance of caution we are not permitting those who have travelled or who live outside of our local area to enter the office. This does not mean we do not want to help you. Please advise the office if you think you may not be permitted entry.

If you answer YES to any of these questions, it is critical to advise our staff so that proper precautions can be taken. Failure to comply with these measures can put our staff and other patients at risk.

Prior to any scheduled visit, we ask you to park your vehicle and remain in your vehicle until approximately 10 minutes prior to your appointment.

As we are controlling the number of people in the office and we may not be able to start your appointment earlier than scheduled. Upon entering the office, Alcohol based hand sanitizer will be available. We ask that everyone adhere to physical distancing. We ask that all visitors wear a proper or homemade mask to cover the face and nose. We also do not allow companions unless essential.

What is the purpose of your visit?

“I am here to see the Optometrist”

We ask that you park your vehicle near the office (Parking Garage, Public Lots) 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Please make your way to the office where a staff member will greet you at the doorway. We will confirm that you did not answer YES to the above questions, that you are alone, and that you are wearing a mask.

Upon entering the office space, our intention is to begin the examination immediately. Our staff and Optometrists will direct you where to go. There is no need to touch anything and all surfaces will be disinfected. After initial testing, you will proceed straight into the Optometrists room.

After the appointment, a team member will assist you with your insurance, payment, glasses, and/or contact lenses as needed.
